At XPEDITR Inc., we bring wine shipping excellence straight to your table. As the leading door-to-door transport provider in the wine-shipping industry, we are consistently refining our approach to accommodate the needs of our clients. The vehicles that we use are temperature-controlled and designed for both local and long-haul cross-country shipments. We understand how stressful a wine move can be on our clients, and how much trust you put into the company relocating your valued collection.
I want to thank your crew for the manner our wine move was handled. All wine is in storage, accounted for and resting while waiting on us to get the new room completed. Your staff was very professional and friendly.

Invest in Your Wine Collection
When it comes to moving your wine collections, the relocation process is often an afterthought. Most people don’t even think about it until they realize that their movers either opt out of handling a collection or that it’s risky to use a regular moving truck to relocate. Moving trucks are often kept at temperatures above 100 degrees, as they lack ventilation, ultimately making them unsuitable for wine transport.
1) INVENTORY YOUR WINE COLLECTION
Keep an inventory of your collection so that you’re confident that every bottle is accounted for.
2) CHOOSE WINE BOXES
There are four different types of wine boxes that you can choose from, each with their own benefits. The box that you choose depends largely on how you plan to relocate your collection.
The main types of wine boxes include:
- Styrofoam shipper
- Double wall
- Retail boxes
- Original wood crates
3) RESEARCH THE DIFFERENT CARRIERS
Unfortunately, not all retailers are qualified to transport wine collections safely. Wine shipping is unique in that it has to be handled at a specific temperature and in defined conditions. The ideal temperature for your collection is 55 degrees.
4) WINE INSURANCE COVERAGE
Find out the value of your wine collection, and request that the carrier provide insurance beyond the minimum liability coverage.
5) CHECK WITH YOUR STATE
Certain states have restrictions on the amount of alcohol you can carry across state lines. Before relocating, you should make sure that the process will move forward as smoothly as possible.
